Eligibility Criteria for APSC CCE
1. Educational Qualification
- The candidate must hold a Degree (Graduation) from any recognized University incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India.
- Candidates must possess this prescribed qualification on or before the date of submission of their applications.
2. Age Limit (As of 01/01/2025)
Age relaxations are applicable as per govt rules: +5 Years for SC/ST, +3 Years for OBC/MOBC, and +10 Years for PwBD candidates.
3. Other Mandatory Criteria
- Nationality & Residence: Must be an Indian citizen and an original inhabitant of Assam.
- Language Proficiency: Must be able to speak Assamese or other official/associate official languages or any of the tribal languages of the State.
- Employment Exchange: Must be registered in a District Employment Office of Assam.
Candidates must submit a declaration regarding "The Normal Family Norms" in Form-A at the time of applying for the CCE (Prelim) Examination.

The total fee includes the application fee plus a processing fee (₹40 + 18% tax = ₹47.20) charged by the CSC-SPV portal:
Selection Process: Stages of Exam
Stage 1: Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
Consists of two papers (General Studies-I & General Studies-II) of 200 marks each. Total: 400 marks. Duration: 2 hours per paper. Negative Marking: 1/4th of the mark will be deducted for wrong answers.
Stage 2: Main Examination (Written + Interview)
- Written Exam: Candidates equivalent to 11-12 times the vacancies will be called. It consists of 6 descriptive papers of 250 marks each (Total 1500 Marks). Medium: English or Assamese.
- Interview / Personality Test: Candidates qualifying mains will be called in a 1:3 ratio. Total marks for the interview: 180 Marks.
