Eligibility Criteria for Indian Army Recruitment
Age Limit: Candidates must be between 17 ½ years and 22 years of age. To be eligible under the Agnipath Scheme 2026, candidates must be born between 01 Jul 2005 to 01 Jul 2009 (both days inclusive).
1. Agniveer (General Duty)
Educational Qualification: Class 10th / Matric pass with 45% marks in aggregate and 33% in each subject.
Note: Candidates holding a valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) Driving License will be given preference for Driver roles.
2. Agniveer (Technical)
Educational Qualification: Candidates must meet ONE of the following criteria:
- 10+2/Intermediate Exam passed in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 40% in each subject.
- 10+2 /Intermediate Exam passed in Science from any recognized State/Central Board (including NIOS) AND a 1-year ITI course in a relevant field with NSQF level 4 or above.
- Passed a two-year vocational course with Physics and Mathematics from a recognized board with 50% aggregate marks. (Fields related to Science and Tech under NEP 2020 such as Web Applications, Electrical Technology, Software Development, etc.).
- 10th/Matric pass with 50% aggregate and 40% in English, Maths, and Science, paired with 2 years of Technical Training from ITI or a 2/3 year Diploma in streams like Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Electrician, Fitter, Computer Science, etc.
3. Agniveer Clerk/ Store Keeper (Technical)
Educational Qualification: 10+2 / Intermediate Exam Pass in any stream (Arts, Commerce, Science) with 60% marks in aggregate and a minimum of 50% in each subject. Securing 50% in English and Maths/Accounts/Book Keeping in Class XII is mandatory.
4. Agniveer Tradesmen (10th Pass)
Educational Qualification: Class 10th simple pass. Must have scored a minimum of 33% marks in each subject.
5. Agniveer Tradesmen (8th Pass)
Educational Qualification: Class 8th simple pass. Must have scored a minimum of 33% marks in each subject.

Selection Process for Indian Army Vacancy 2026
The rigorous recruitment process ensures only the best candidates are selected. It is conducted in two primary phases:
Phase I: Online Common Entrance Exam (CEE)
- Mode of Exam: Online Computer Based Test (CBT) at designated centers pan-India.
- Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
- Structure: 50 or 100 questions (depending on the applied category) to be completed in 60 or 120 minutes.
